Dr. Michael Kettel of San Diego Fertility Center Gives “An Inside Look at Freezing Eggs” on NBC

Then he performs a minor surgical procedure under light anesthesia to retrieve them—there are no incisions and the procedure is over in about 20 minutes. Once frozen, the eggs will last indefinitely.
