Dr. Michael Nochomovitz to Lead Clinical Integration and Network Development for the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System
(PRWEB) March 03, 2015 -- Dr. Michael Nochomovitz has been appointed senior vice president and chief clinical integration and network development officer for the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System. In this newly established role, Dr. Nochomovitz is responsible for the development of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System physician enterprise, its integration within NewYork-Presbyterian and collaboration with Columbia Doctors and Weill Cornell Physicians.
Dr. Nochomovitz brings 17 years of physician management experience to NewYork-Presbyterian. Most recently, he served as president of the University Hospitals Physician Services, the umbrella organization for the physician enterprise at the University Hospital System in Cleveland. He developed, implemented and managed the regional multispecialty physician network and associated management services organization, which includes 1,700 providers across all specialties in the academic and community settings, located throughout northeast Ohio.

Twice recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the most influential physician executives in the U.S., he has served on the board of directors of the Medical Group Management Association and the board of governors of the American College of Chest Physicians. He has testified in the U.S. Senate’s Health Education Labor and Pensions committee hearings on health care reform, and participated in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid committees, which resulted in new payment methodologies for Medicare.
Board certified in both internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, Dr. Nochomovitz earned his medical degree at the University of Cape Town School of Medicine in South Africa. He completed an internal medicine residency and pulmonary fellowship at University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
