Dr. Rod J. Rohrich Named Among Best Plastic Surgeons in Dallas
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) December 31, 2013 -- Dr. Rod J. Rohrich has been identified as one of the best plastic surgeons in Dallas by D Magazine in the their special issue focusing on top physicians in Dallas. D Magazine releases its peer-reviewed list of best doctors annually to highlight superb physicians practicing in the Dallas and Fort Worth area. Dr. Rohrich serves as chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he teaches as a Professor of Plastic Surgery.
Top plastic surgeons were chosen by their peers in the specialty of cosmetic surgery, one of 43 specialties identified by the Magazine. The Best Doctors listings are especially renowned in the Dallas area as they are selected by a peer-review process, are verified individually, and are completely free of any type of paid inclusion in the list.
A longstanding advocate of patient safety, Dr. Rohrich believes recognitions such as D Magazine physician listings can be useful for patients looking for a plastic surgeon.
"The most important factor in all of plastic surgery, the one which determines your safety and outcome, is who you choose as your plastic surgeon," explains Dr. Rohrich who stresses what he calls the three "3 Es": Expertise, Experience, and Exceptional results.
"Your surgeon should have the expertise, that is, be a recognized expert in the procedure and teach others how to perform it. He should be experienced, and perform the procedure regularly as one of the top procedures of his or her practice. Finally, the results should be consistent and exceptional," explains Dr. Rohrich.
"Some people spend more time choosing a pair of shoes than choosing their plastic surgeon," quips Dr. Rohrich, who sees many patients that need corrective secondary surgery because of mishaps made by improperly trained or inexperienced surgeons. More than half of all his Dallas rhinoplasty patients, for example, come to see Dr. Rohrich for secondary rhinoplasty to correct unsatisfactory results from a previous surgery.
"Always choose your surgeon wisely and carefully. Make sure he or she is board certified and has the expertise and the experience to deliver a satisfactory and safe outcome," says Dr. Rohrich.
