Dr. Samata Basani, Endocrinologist, Joins Medical & Surgical Clinic of Irving
Irving, Texas (PRWEB) August 06, 2015 -- Medical & Surgical Clinic of Irving is pleased to announce that Samata Basani, MD, has joined the practice. She’ll be working closely with Dr. Rajiv Dattatreya, Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving’s long-time endocrinologist. “The tremendous increases in Diabetes, Hypertension, Cholesterol and Thyroid disorders that our physicians are seeing in patients has dramatically expanded the need for endocrinology. Dr. Basani attended Alluri Sitaram Raju Academy of Medical Sciences in India for her undergraduate degree and medical school. She then moved to Georgia for her Internal Medicine residency at Atlanta Medical Center. During her time at Atlanta Medical Center she served as the Chief Medical Resident. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Basani moved to Texas where she completed her Endocrinology fellowship at the University of Texas at Southwestern.
Over the course of both her academic and professional career, Dr. Basani has received several awards and accolades such as the Best Clinical Fellow Award in the Endocrine fellowship program at the University of Texas at Southwestern. She has also collaborated with several physicians on medical publications. She’s a member of American Diabetes Association, The Endocrine Society, and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. She is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
