Dreamclinic Inc., Seattle’s Top-Rated Massage Business Expands to Redmond-Bellevue
Bellevue, Washington (PRWEB) June 08, 2014 -- Massage therapy has come a long ways from the days when people snickered at the mention of it or assumed it was a strictly pampering affair. Do you know why you love massage? Larisa Goldin, former high-tech executive and Founder and CEO of Dreamclinic, does. "I was the touchy one in a family of mathematicians, and as the social director of my high school math team I often times would host a post-competition party. So what did I make the math nerds do at the party? Pair up and give each other massage! I thought it was totally normal and a great way to help each other feel better."
With that perspective, it's not a surprise that after a serious stress-induced health scare in her late twenties, Goldin began literally dreaming of a clinic that provided easy access to massage. "Massage was a therapeutic pathway to my recovery and I looked for well-established and reputable places to receive non-spa massage but at the time, in the mid 1990’s, they were difficult to find." While she didn't immediately start Dreamclinic after her recovery, the idea began to grow.
"I thought, wouldn't it be nice to have a trusted, reputable resource for wellness where there is a consistently high-quality among all the massage therapists, and where you could trust the quality of different services?" Goldin became a consumer of natural health offerings beyond massage such as yoga, wellness-related workshops and alternative healing practices. She continued to look for that “dream” clinic and took copious mental notes on the places she did find.
"I paid attention to the details in customer service and how the experience was delivered. I observed how places made the client feel safe and taken care of and how best to provide therapeutic healing in a spiritually neutral environment so that people from all beliefs felt accepted and supported." Over the next decade, Goldin took notes and classes and talked to friends and colleagues about her ideas for a massage clinic. "The choice to open a treatment clinic rather than a spa was clear to me. Massage is an automatic portal to relaxation, but it does so much more and I also wanted to offer access to therapeutic treatment for recovery from sports and muscle-related injuries."
By a stroke of luck or fate, shortly after she became a certified massage therapist Goldin and her colleagues were let go after the Seattle-based high-tech company where she worked was acquired. "There was no despair or delay," Goldin recalled. "I started offering massage out of my home, then quickly moved into a studio occupied by a running coach.” Dreamclinic outgrew that space within one year and moved into a bigger space in Roosevelt on 65th Street (near Greenlake) where it operated for almost nine years. This flagship Roosevelt location emerged as the gold standard for massage therapy in Seattle - performing roughly 1,500 appointments per month - and has won multiple industry awards based on the quality of its therapist staff.
“Because that location was recently razed for commercial development, we lucked out and moved one shop door east," Goldin said, referring to the big blue 10-room Dreamclinic in Roosevelt that can be spotted from I-5.
In 2011, the MarQueen Hotel in Queen Anne searched for the most respected local massage business to partner with and invited Dreamclinic to open a small clinic inside its building. This second Dreamclinic location helped meet demand from clients living in downtown, Queen Anne and Belltown. In June of this year Dreamclinic is opening its third location in the Overlake neighborhood of Bellevue to bring its brand of truly caring, top-quality therapeutic bodywork to folks who live or work on the east side.
"It's a perfect location for us," said Goldin. "A good percentage of our clinic and workplace massage clients are from the east side and have been asking for us to expand that direction. We also have recently partnered with Microsoft's PRIME program which provides employees discounted services in local neighborhoods where campuses are located. We are excited to now bring the convenience of massage and acupuncture at the Overlake location to all our clients who work and/or live on the east side.”
Dreamclinic has also partnered with the University of Washington's Whole U program which provides faculty and administrative employees with the Husky U service discount card. "Many of our clients who are University employees live on the east side, as well as Boeing employees who use our workplace massage program and also visit the clinic for extended massage and acupuncture treatments."
