DrugRisk Adds Latest Court Update on DePuy Hip Lawsuits

Recent court records show the number of lawsuits alleging injury from the recalled hip implants has grown*.

Health experts such as the British Medical Journal** and FDA*** have warned that toxic metal shavings from metal hip implants like the DePuy ASR can cause side effects such as implant failure, bone loss, tissue damage and damage to other organs.
DePuy Orthopedics, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, recalled the ASR metal hip implant in 2010, estimating as many as 13% of patients may need revision surgery*.
