Duke Moscrip of Duke's Chowder Houses Introduces the 13th Man in an Open Letter to Pete Carroll and all Seahawks Coaches
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) February 09, 2015 -- Like many Seahawks fans, founder and Owner of Duke’s Chowder Houses, Duke Moscrip, experienced both frustration and anger when much to his chagrin the team lost the "Big Game." After a few days had passed it dawned on him that Seattle needed to recover and so did Pete Carroll and the Seahawks coaches, so he came up with an idea. He put pen to paper and wrote Pete and his coaches an open letter and then decided to place the letter in local newspapers from Seattle to Tacoma to inspire a fun and positive way for fans to cope with their loss.
A short video was produced to share with the public, including Duke's VIP Club.
Here's what Moscrip wrote:
Dear Pete,
I know you are just as disappointed in Sunday’s result as any fan and probably even more so. It was a devastating loss. There is frustration everywhere and a fair amount of anger floating around. But I have an idea that can turn things around. Here it is. The players have the 12th Man to help them out but you don’t have a Man. Let me introduce the 13th Man for you and the Coaches. I know the number 13 is usually unlucky but, in this case, it is just the opposite. With the enormous amount of bad luck in the ‘Big Game’, we need a strong antidote and No. 13 will do the job. I once intercepted a pass in the end zone and ran for a 103 yard touchdown when I was in Pee Wee football. I was wearing, you guessed it, No. 13. It worked for me and it will work for you. The 13th Man will provide wonderful ideas for you and all the coaches, trick plays, a modern day Statue of Liberty play, sneaky stuff to make your opponents just as frustrated as all of us are right now. Consider the 13th Man your lucky charm. You know what they say, you can never have too much good luck. I hope you will see this as a positive thing for your coaches and team. We need to be positive from here on out. Yes, we lost the ‘Big Game’ but we just have to move on and the 13th Man will help us do that. What do you say, Pete?

P.S. To help ease everyone’s distress, the 13th Man has made arrangements to buy all Seahawks fans a FREE small bowl of chowder with purchase of any food item! All they have to do is bring in a copy of this letter or show it on their phone at any one of our six locations.
On Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 1pm, Moscrip will unfurl the 13th Man flag at his Alki location in Seattle, WA. Duke's VIP Club members, Pete Carroll, Seahawks coaches and Seahawks fans are invited to attend.
Moscrip says, "I'm hopeful that in time the 13th Man idea will take off and that other businesses will begin to create fun activities for Seahawks fans. Who knows, by football season, this year's loss might just be a distant memory."
