The Law Society Children Law Panel Accreditation Scheme covers all types of Childcare Law work. Members of the Law Society Children Law Panel will have been assessed by the Law Society and will have shown that they can maintain, a high level of knowledge, skill and experience in representing children and adults in the area of Children Law.
Members of the Children Panel must possess significant experience in dealing with matters under the Children Act 1989. This includes providing advice and representation for;
>Children in all types of Family Law matters, including care proceedings, or where they have been made a party to private law proceedings
>Adults (including parents, other relatives and carers) where children are ‘at risk’ or have been taken into care by the Local Authority
>Local Authorities, in care proceedings under the Children Act 1989
The Law Society Childrens Law Accreditation scheme provides a recognisable quality mark in Children Law services. The expertise of members are independently and rigorously assessed by the Law Society panel judges every three years.
