Duncan Regional Hospital Health Foundation Brings Dr. Kenneth Cooper of the Famed Cooper Clinic-Dallas to the Heart of the Chisholm Trail, Duncan, Oklahoma
Duncan, OK (PRWEB) December 31, 2013 -- This coming February, Duncan Regional Hospital Health Foundation hosts their 9th Annual “Give it a Tri” Indoor Triathlon and their Annual Ladies’ Luncheon. The luncheon will feature Meridan Zerner of the Cooper Clinic-Dallas giving a Womens Health Talk and that same evening Dr. Kenneth Cooper of the Cooper Clinic-Dallas will give a Community Health Talk.
The 9th annual “Give it a Tri” Sprint Indoor Triathlon will be on February 23, 2014 at the Simmons Center, 800 Chisholm Trail Parkway. This event consists of adult and youth divisions where participants swim, bike and run. Additionally this year there is a “Land Lovers” event where participants bike and run only. There are medals for the top 3 finishers in each age bracket and prizes for the overall male/females. Triathlon costs are Adult-Individual $35; Adult Team $90; Youth Individual $25; Youth Team $60.
The annual Ladies’ Luncheon will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Simmons Center as well. The day will start with Meridan Zerner, Registered Dietician at The Cooper Clinic (Dallas) teaching a beginner Pilates class at 8:00 am. Then from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, the luncheon will be held with Meridan as the guest speaker. Meridan will address health issues for women of ages.
That evening, Dr. Kenneth Cooper, founder of The Cooper Clinic, will be speaking to the public on the topic, Exercise is Medicine. More than 40 years ago, Dr. Cooper inspired millions to exercise for good health with the release of his first best-seller, "Aerobics." Today Dr. Cooper is revolutionizing health and fitness again – calling on America and the world to "Get Cooperized."
Costs for the Beginners Pilates class is $20 (includes a t-shirt) and the Ladies Luncheon is $25. Dr. Cooper’s evening talk will be free to the general public.
In existence since 2005,The DRH Health Foundation's mission is to “act as a resource for Duncan Regional Hospital and for the health, wellness and healthcare needs of the residents of southwest Oklahoma.”
