Duplin Winery's 39th Annual Grape Stomp Celebration will be Held At Both Its Rose Hill, N.C., and North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Wineries in 2015
Rose Hill, N.C. (PRWEB) September 03, 2015 -- The largest winery in the South, Duplin Winery of Rose Hill, N.C., and North Myrtle Beach, S.C., will hold its 39th Annual Grape Stomp celebration at both locations on two different Saturdays in September. The first day of the Grape Stomp will be hosted at Duplin Winery's Rose Hill location on September 12, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. On September 19, 2015, the North Myrtle Beach winery will host the Grape Stomp from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. This year marks the first time that the Duplin Winery Grape Stomp is being held at the North Myrtle Beach winery, as well as at the Rose Hill winery.
"Grape stomping was once the accepted way to crush grapes to make wine, but today stomping grapes is just for fun," said Jonthan Fussell, president of Duplin Wine Family and head of the winery's marketing division. "We hold a grape stomp competition as the centerpiece of our annual celebration of wine-making. Those who attend the celebration at either the Rose Hill or the North Myrtle Beach location will get a chance to stomp grapes with their bare feet. Whomever stomps the most juice out of their barrel of grapes will win a prize."
Tickets for the Rose Hill Grape Stomp on September 12 are $15 per person (including tax). The event includes live music from Gary Lowder & Smokin' Hot, grape stomping and wine tastings. Special vineyard tours will be given during the afternoon, and exclusive wine tastings that include a special cheese tray are an additional $5. Duplin Winery's on-site Bistro Restaurant will be open and there will also be a tent set up on site for dinner purchases.
Attendance for the North Myrtle Beach celebration is $25 per person (including tax) and includes a ticket to the winery's neighboring attraction, Alligator Adventure. The event features a live performance from Dark 30 Boogie Band, grape stomping, gator feeding and wine tastings. On Friday, September 18, the Alabama Theatre will be offering an exclusive discount package for Grape Stomp attendees, including a free wine garden reception prior to the show.
