DuPont Awarded Best Crop Protection R&D Pipeline for Second Straight Year

Agrow is a leading provider of news, analysis and data to the global agriculture industry.
The Agrow Awards were developed to recognize excellence in the crop protection and production industries. Entries are evaluated using a wide range of criteria by an independent judging panel consisting of a group of experts from around the world.

DuPont Crop Protection and its scientists have received a total of 19 Agrow Awards in the seven years since the awards were launched, receiving at least one each year. This year, DuPont Crop Protection received awards in the following categories:
• Best R&D Pipeline – This Agrow Award was bestowed upon DuPont for the second consecutive year and recognizes the critical importance of research and development to the industry. DuPont was deemed to have the most promising batch of new active ingredients in R&D. DuPont’s R&D product concepts target significant market opportunities and seek new chemical classes and new modes of action that favor performance attributes like low use rates and control of resistant pests. The current R&D pipeline will extend these high standards to additional insecticide and nematicide markets and to major fungicide targets.
• Best Formulation Innovation – This Agrow Award was for formulation innovations from one of its latest fungicides, DuPont™ Zorvec™. The product represents a significant improvement for growers in the control of diseases in potatoes, grapes, vegetables and other specialty crops. DuPont™ Zorvec™ will offer remarkably favorable toxicological and environmental profiles, combined with low use rates, while providing large margins of safety for consumers, agricultural workers and the environment.
• Best Public Outreach Programme –This Agrow Award was in recognition of the tremendous work that DuPont completed for its first Asia Pacific Product Stewardship Day. The event reached more than 40,000 farmers, students, distributors, retailers and government officials.
