DuraLife FPL – Fire Resistive Alarm Cables has twelve certifications covering three (3) categories, 16 AWG solid OFHC, 14 AWG Solid OFHC, and 14 AWG 7 Strand OFHC. The CI fire resistive cables are also in compliance with UL 1424 listed FPL for Power-Limited Fire Alarm Circuits; UL Certified to UL 2196 2 Hour fire rating in FHIT System 28 A; and all meet the National Fire Protection Code (NFPA 70 & 72) fire alarm survivability circuit requirements.
Prior to CI cable, mineral insulated cable was the only approved product for circuit integrity applications. The product make up of CI Cable has less material, weighs less, and provides more flexibility during installation. The product itself requires less tooling and equipment during installation and as such Architects, Consultants, Electrical Contractors and Fire Specialist are seeing an overall reduction in overall cost. Based on product evaluation and new installations, Olympic Wire & Cable is stating “that their client market has the overall potential of seeing favorable economic relief in the neighborhood of 15 - 30 percent.”
