Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) May 27, 2016 -- Kids of Duval Charter School at Mandarin are celebrating with creative play. The Jacksonville, Florida K-8 elementary school just received their new Imagination Playground Big Blue Blocks set, donated to them by Imagination Playground and THE PLAYERS Championship.
THE PLAYERS Championship is a premier golf event on the PGA TOUR, held in mid-May in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. At the championship, Imagination Playground partnered with THE PLAYERS to offer a family and kid-friendly Big Blue Block building oasis, located in the McKenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation Kid Zone. During that week, hundreds of fans stopped by to play, build, and fill out a “Submit it to Win It” ballot for their favorite school or family center to win an Imagination Playground.
Luck found its way to the Duval Charter School kids on the last day of the championship, when Matt Rapp, SVP and Executive Director of THE PLAYERS Championship, pulled their school’s name in the final drawing from the hefty pool of tickets.
THE PLAYERS Championship reported that upon receiving delivery of their new Imagination Playground, the students were thrilled, and sprinted to the blocks to start building. The school plans to use the blocks in gym class and during recess.
David Krishock, Imagination Playground President and CEO says, “We thank the THE PLAYERS Championship and the PGA TOUR for their continued partnership in bringing creative play to the children associated with their tournaments. We’re so excited for Duval Charter School, and know that their new Imagination Playground will provide endless hours of fun and building, now, and for many years to come.”
This was the second year in a row that THE PLAYERS Championship hosted an Imagination Playground building area in their Kid Zone. Last year’s Submit it to Win it recipient was PVPV/Rawlings Elementary School of Ponte Vedra Beach.
While at this year’s tournament, Imagination Playground also attended the These Kids Can Play! charity event hosted by The PGA TOUR Wives Association, where kids with disabilities were able to play and build with Imagination Playground blocks.
