E Source Adds John Di Stasio to Advisory Board
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) January 12, 2015 -- E Source is pleased to announce the addition of John Di Stasio, president of the Large Public Power Council (LPPC), to its advisory board. Di Stasio joins an incredible group of utility industry veterans that serves as a strategic resource for E Source, its customers, and the energy utility market. In addition to Di Stasio, the board is composed of Jim Rogers, retired chairman, president, and CEO of Duke Energy; Sue Kelly, president and CEO of the American Public Power Association (APPA); Charles Bayless, former chairman, president, and CEO of Tucson Electric Power and Illinois Power; and Ralph Cavanagh, senior attorney and co-director of the Natural Resources Defense Council’s energy program.
“John Di Stasio is a fantastic addition to our already impressive advisory board. After more than 30 years at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), he continues to make a huge impact in the industry as the president of the LPPC,” says Wayne Greenberg, E Source CEO. “His perspective will add an interesting dynamic to the group.”
Di Stasio served as the general manager and CEO of SMUD, where his accomplishments included offering some of the lowest electricity rates in California and improving reliability. He was also instrumental in securing a $127.5 million grant from the US Department of Energy to pursue a smart grid infrastructure project. Di Stasio is the past president of both the Northwest Public Power Association and the California Municipal Utility Association and the vice chair of the LPPC. He was a board member of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy and the APPA and a member of the North American Electric Reliability Corp.’s Members Representative Committee. Di Stasio, named Electric Light & Power magazine’s 2013 large utility CEO of the Year, was also a gubernatorial appointee to the California Workforce Investment Board. He’s active in international energy issues, serving as a delegate with the United States Energy Association (USEA), where he assisted in electrification, operations, and energy market development in countries such as Bangladesh, Brazil, Botswana, India, and Jordan. He was named 2013 Volunteer of the Year by the USEA.
“We’re humbled by the willingness of this extraordinary group to sit at the table with us and help ensure that we’re making the best possible decisions for our customers and the industry,” says Greenberg.
