Eating Recovery Center’s Linda Lewaniak Wins Member of the Year Award from Northern Illinois Employee Assistance Professionals Association
CHICAGO (PRWEB) June 15, 2016 -- Last week, the Northern Illinois Employee Assistance Professionals Association (NIEAPA) awarded Eating Recovery Center’s Linda Lewaniak, LCSW, CAADC, the organization’s annual “Member of the Year” Award. Program Director of Integrated Services at Eating Recovery Center’s Insight Behavioral Health Centers (ERC Insight), Lewaniak was recognized for her service to the organization and more than 25 years of leadership in substance abuse and mental health treatment. As a distinguished member, Lewaniak’s participation in NIEAPA has contributed to its advocacy of Employee Assistance Programs and other workplace-based behavioral health, substance abuse and organizational consultation services.
This recognition echoes Lewaniak’s role at ERC Insight where she leads specialized care for patients with co-occurring diagnoses of eating disorders and substance abuse. Substance abuse presents a heightened risk to those with eating disorders; 50 percent abuse alcohol or illicit drugs, compared with just nine percent of the general population. As the only national, vertically integrated, health care system dedicated to the treatment of eating disorders and related conditions, ERC engaged Lewaniak in March 2016 to lead ERC Insight’s Integrated Services.

As a member of NIEAPA, Lewaniak has served many roles, including as chairperson for the organization’s 2015 conference, NIEAPA board member, and volunteer for several committees.
Leveraging her extensive clinical and operational background, Lewaniak oversees the delivery of evidence-based, cutting-edge substance abuse treatment at ERC Insight’s treatment centers and provides clinical supervision to the multidisciplinary treatment team. Lewaniak also collaborates closely with ERC’s senior clinical leadership across all 25 facilities nationwide to ensure holistic integration of addiction treatment, and provides substance abuse education, training and development for mental health professionals, educators and community resources.
