ECPI University’s Richmond-Innsbrook Campus Responds to Employer Demand with New Master of Science in Cybersecurity Degree
Richmond, VA (PRWEB) December 07, 2015 -- ECPI University’s Richmond-Innsbrook campus is now offering a Master of Science in Cybersecurity degree program. Prospective students can enroll in one of two concentrations: Cyber Operations or Cybersecurity Policy.
“The risks to networks and information systems have never been greater, which makes cybersecurity capabilities critical to the survivability of most any organization,” says ECPI University Richmond-Innsbrook Campus President Jacob Pope. “Employers are making it abundantly clear that they need cybersecurity professionals with a high-level of expertise and we are responding to that.”
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of information security analysts is projected to grow 37 percent from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all other occupations.
ECPI University’s program is largely based on the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security program requirements for designation as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance/Cyber Defense.
Students will be challenged to develop skills in such areas as:
• Applied Cryptography and Data Protection
• Cyber Forensics
• Security Architecture & Design
• Cybersecurity Governance and Compliance
• Cloud, wireless, and mobile security
• Ethical Hacking
Graduates can be prepared to manage complex IT projects, design secure computer systems using the most current information technologies, and develop innovative hardware and software system architectures.
ECPI University’s curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for advanced cybersecurity certification examinations such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Systems Administration and Network Security (SANS), and Chief Information Security Officer (C:CISO).
