Ed-Tech Conference Attendees to Engage with Internationally-Acclaimed Keynote Speakers
ORLANDO, Fla. (PRWEB) December 30, 2014 -- Education professionals will have the opportunity to learn from six of the world’s top luminaries in the ed-tech community at FETC – the largest national education technology conference held on the East Coast – Jan. 20-23 at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center. Each of FETC 2015’s stellar keynote speakers will challenge attendees to take what they learn at the conference and use it to think outside-the-box when integrating technology into their classrooms.

Lawton is the CEO of MakerBot and is responsible for the overall strategy and growth of the company including strategic partnerships, product development and retail. In addition to her work with MakerBot, she is a respected company builder, technologist and advocate for fostering entrepreneurship. Sengeh, a Sierra Leone native, engineer, designer and lyricist/rapper, will finish his doctorate next year at the MIT Media Labs, in the biomechatronics group focusing on the design of comfortable prosthetic sockets and wearable interfaces. A social entrepreneur, Sengeh is president and co-founder of NGO Global Minimum Inc., and owner/lead designer for Nyali Clothing. Read more about Sengeh here.
Former West Virginia Gov. Wise is president of the Alliance for Excellent Education, a nonprofit organization that has become a national leader for reforming the nation’s high schools so that all students graduate from high school prepared to succeed in college and a career. After serving a combined 24 years as governor, member of the U.S. House of Representatives and state legislator, Gov. Bellow has worked as a high school English teacher, district technology training specialist and senior educational technology director for the College Board Schools. He is the founder and CEO of eduTecher, eduClipper and WeLeanedIt – Web and app resources designed for teachers and students. Bellow has been working to have a positive impact on the educational technology community for many years. “As a former classroom teacher, technology training specialist and technology director, I have experienced many of the attendees’ current roles,” said Bellow. “These experiences have helped color what and how I talk about the future of educational technology and the system of education.”
Vattel is the CEO of GameDesk, a nonprofit organization reshaping K-12 education through games and game development. He also is the director and writer for Vattel Films and the founder and co-director of the PlayMaker school which offers a new approach to teaching and learning. McGonigal is the New York Times bestselling author of Reality is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World and is the inventor and co-founder of SuperBetter, a game that has helped nearly a half million players tackle real-life health challenges such as depression, anxiety, chronic pain and traumatic brain injury. Her best-known works include EVOKE, Superstruct, World Without Oil, Cruel 2 B Kind, Find the Future and The Lost Ring. She is the director of games research and development at the Institute for the Future, a non-profit research group in Palo Alto, Calif.
