EDAC Systems, Inc. Announces Version 6 and the New Learning Module for ReadSCRIPT ®, Its Advanced Handwriting Recognition Software Module for IBM® Datacap
Fredericksburg, VA (PRWEB) August 08, 2015 -- EDAC Systems, Inc., a leading value-added reseller and integrator of document imaging, content, records and case management solutions and services to both government and commercial clients, today announced the release of a new version of ReadSCRIPT®, its Advanced Handwriting Recognition Module for IBM’s Datacap document capture platform. As an integrated module within the IBM Datacap workflow, this new edition of ReadSCRIPT® includes:
• The new Handwriting Learning Module
• Expanded dictionaries for validation
• Improved unstructured handwriting keyword spotting and phrase classification
• Enhanced check processing extraction capabilities
“ReadSCRIPT ® automates the recognition, classification, and index extraction from all paper and electronic files and records,” says Greg Blevins, EDAC’s Marketing and Account Manager. “With the addition of the Learning Module, ReadSCRIPT provides the capability to learn word patterns from previous documents from the same writer. By understanding how a person writes a specific word, ReadSCRIPT speeds up the indexing process, enhances the accuracy of the metadata, decreases the verification error rate, and speeds up time to images.”
Sample use cases include:
- A manufacturer or distributor receiving handwritten orders from numerous companies, but only one or two individuals from the ordering company tend to submit the order forms.
- The same individual requesting policy information, manufacturing or warranty information, or freedom of information requests.
Version 6 also expands the number of and the content in its validation dictionaries. As an example, the name dictionary has been expanded by 10-fold and now includes foreign names. The address dictionary has been updated, and new healthcare dictionaries have been added.
Keyword Spotting in Unstructured documents has been enhanced in this latest version. Keyword Spotting automatically locates words and short phrases anywhere on unstructured or semi-structured documents. These keywords can be used as index values or can generate a notification to a user for immediate action (e.g. the words “urgent” or “emergency” may prompt special claims processing)
This new release improved ReadSCRIPT’s two optional modules, Check Processing and Signature Verification. Check Processing recognizes and extracts standard check fields and provides Courtesy Amount Recognition and Legal Amount Recognition (CAR/LAR) reconciliation. The Signature Verification functions in two ways: one, it locates, classifies and / or verifies that a check of document is signed, and second, it verifies that authenticity of the signature by comparing the signature against a reference signature database.
