eDist Announces Availability of New Olympus Digital Recorder Product Line
Mahwah, NJ (PRWEB) January 21, 2014 -- eDist announced today the availability of a new line of Olympus digital recorders including the WS-821, WS-822, WS-823, VN-722 and DM-901. The new features on each device offer unique capabilities for simplified recording, higher-quality audio, enhanced long-distance functionality, more efficient playback and easier transcription. The WS and VN Series will be available this month and the DM-901 will follow in early February.

THE WS SERIES
The WS-821, WS-822 and WS-823 models contain one of the world’s most advanced technologies for noise cancellation, creating crystal-clear playback every time. In addition, all three devices include directional stereo microphones, which are positioned at 90-degree angles to capture sound flawlessly.
The Voice Playback Mode on the WS-822 and WS-823 and the new Transcription Mode, which is featured on all three WS Series recorders, create the most efficient approach to transcription of recordings. In playback mode, the device will skip over any dead-air or non-voice gaps, only playing the parts where audio is present.
The WS-822 and WS-823 also include an enhanced Voice Balancer function, which adapts to recording levels of multiple speakers in a room for better quality on playback. The WS-823 includes a new Zoom Microphone Mode, which can pinpoint a voice in the distance and zoom in on the source. This is an ideal feature for settings with a high level of ambient sound.
THE VN SERIES
The VN-722PC includes a large-diameter, low-noise microphone for superior-quality digital recording as well as a redesigned LCD screen and enhanced buttons for more simplified usability.
The Simple Mode is ideal for beginners with a tailored display screen that only highlights pertinent information and the most frequently used functions. Telephone Recording and Duplication Mode are also available and can be used with certain accessories to easily record telephone conversations or duplicate audio from cassette tapes.
Noise often emitted directly from surfaces can also be eliminated through use of a built-in stand on the back of the VN-722PC, which props up the recorder and contributes to higher-quality recordings.
THE DM-901
The Olympus DM-901 brings the same premium sound quality as its sister recorders but with new mobile, smartphone features. For the first time on an Olympus recorder, Wi-Fi capabilities and a new app can link the DM-901 to a user’s smartphone for remote triggered recording control. There is no longer a need to sit in the front row of a crowded seminar. The DM-901 can be placed close to the audio source and the user can have complete start and stop control from the back row.
The Olympus Audio Controller Smartphone app includes a Visual Index tool for simplified searching and managing of recorded files. You can also apply icons or images taken with a smartphone and link them to specific parts of a sound file’s timeline. Audio files can be quickly stored in Dropbox and easily shared online with other users. Voice Playback that eliminates the areas within a recording where no speech is present and a Voice Balancer function that adapts to soft and loud voices, and adjusts the volume levels of each speaker is also available on the DM-901.
