Education Pioneers Announces 10-Month Impact Fellowship to Accelerate Excellence and Equity in US Public Education
OAKLAND, Calif. (PRWEB) January 17, 2018 -- Education Pioneers, a national nonprofit that since 2003 has recruited more than 3,500 professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds into non-teaching leadership positions throughout K-12 public education, announced today that applications for the Education Pioneers Impact Fellowship are open.
Designed to accelerate the nationwide movement to ensure all students have equal access to high-quality educational opportunities in the U.S., Education Pioneers’ 10-month Impact Fellowship meets critical non-teaching talent needs like data analysis and strategic project management, and boosts capacity in organizations across the sector in cities nationwide, including Memphis, TN; Tulsa, OK; Kansas City, MO; and New Orleans, LA.
“Since 2003, Education Pioneers has partnered with over 750 education organizations nationwide, including school districts, charter school organizations, and education nonprofits, and many are trying to do more for students with fewer resources. Through the Impact Fellowship, we can add needed capacity, and specifically data experts and strategic project managers, to support their teams’ work, and do it cost effectively,” said Scott Morgan, Founder and CEO of Education Pioneers. “At the same time, the Impact Fellowship attracts and grows diverse, skilled professionals to ensure the strength of the education sector now and for the future.”
During the 10-month Fellowship, Fellows are placed in a role with a leading education organization where they use the experience and skills they bring in analytics or strategic project management to support or drive forward important initiatives. Through leadership development support and programming, the Impact Fellowship catalyzes the careers of promising professionals, provides them with robust education knowledge and leadership development training, and connects them with diverse local and national networks.
Education Pioneers has a long history of influencing Fellows’ career paths. “EP was my way out of the banking world and into the education space where I could make a difference. Through my work placement and cohort experience, I gained the big picture landscape of education, locally and nationally,” said Melvin Freeman, a 2013 Education Pioneers Fellow, a former business analyst at Barclays, and current Director of Data Strategy at KIPP DC.
During the Impact Fellowship’s leadership development programming, Fellows dive into critical education issues and topics and to reflect on their own leadership. Fellows also hear from influential leaders in the education sector and connect with a local cohort and Education Pioneers’ nationwide Alumni network to advance their career and impact.
Applications are now open for the 2018 Impact Fellowship.
