Education Resources Inc. Offers New Acute and Critical Care Therapy Series Online
Boston, Massachusetts (PRWEB) September 28, 2016 -- This series is recommended for physical therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapist assistants, and occupational therapist assistants who treat patients in acute care settings, home health settings, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient settings, and outpatient settings. Course participants can access the series for an entire year to hone their skills and sharpen their decision-making at their convenience. Participants will receive downloadable handouts and may earn twelve continuing education hours upon completing the series.
Course topics include: Clinical Decision Making in Acute Care; Clinical Physiological Monitoring; Acute Care and ICU Pharmacology; Lines, Tubes, Ventilators and Diagnostic Screening for Stability versus Instability; and an interactive Auscultation Lab.
Through case studies, demonstrations, extensive directed lab practice, and lecture, participants will advance their skills in diagnosing and treating acutely and critically ill patients. Participants will also learn to facilitate team collaboration, reduce length of stay, and navigate reimbursement.

Steve Sadowsky, PT, RRT, MS, CCS, an ABPTS Certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist, is also an internationally recognized author, consultant, practitioner and teacher. Mr. Sadowsky has practiced in adult and neonatal cardiopulmonary transplantation and critical care units at large major medical centers, as well as in long-term outpatient skilled and home care settings. As an associate professor at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Mr. Sadowsky teaches in the Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum in Chicago, and is the director of their Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Exercise Testing Laboratory. Mr. Sadowsky has been a member of Item Bank Review Committee with the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy and has served the APTA's American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties with distinction.
