Educational Leaders in New York Learn About Affordable Options in School Safety from Prepared Response, Inc.®
Albany, New York (PRWEB) February 16, 2016 -- Prepared Response, Inc., and the New York State Sheriffs’ Association (NYSSA), visited four counties in New York during the week of January 19-22 meeting with BOCES representatives and other key county and educational leaders. During the meetings, attendees learned about the aidable service being offered through other BOCES and how they can join the NYSSA Rapid Responder Program. In person demonstrations and testimonials from guest speakers lead every meeting in Erie, Syracuse, Ulster, and Plattsburgh counties, providing a firsthand look at how the NYSSA Rapid Responder Program aids in emergency preparedness and response.
Guest speakers included sheriff’s and BOCES members currently offering it to schools in their communities. Chuck Gallo, Deputy Executive Director for the New York State Sheriffs’ Association spoke in depth about the benefits of the NYSSA Rapid Responder Program for both schools and Sheriffs’ departments alike. Alex Wilson, Associate Counsel for the New York State Sheriffs’ Association told attendees how Rapid Responder was chosen to be sponsored by NYSSA. He explained the research they did to find an affordable, yet robust system that not only met the needs of sheriff’s, but also other first responding agencies and facilities that would be using it.
“From this meeting, I gained a better understanding of how proactive and forward-thinking the NYSSA Rapid Responder Program is,” says Jefferson County Sheriff, Colleen O’Neill. “I am looking forward to continuing our conversation and sharing the benefits of the program with school officials in Jefferson County, NY.”
NYSSA has been working throughout New York State to provide a standardized and affordable school emergency response system to better help protect and respond to emergencies using digital technology. Schools and districts across New York have been implementing the system and are seeing the success that comes from aligning preparedness with technology. In just the past year, 100 public safety agencies in New York are on the system and over 250 facilities have been fully implemented in the state.
“We have worked extensively with Prepared Response and are pleased that our communities around New York are seeing the benefits of the NYSSA Rapid Responder Program,” says Chuck Gallo, Deputy Executive Director for the New York State Sheriffs’ Association. “The NYSSA Rapid Responder Program is a one-stop shop and brings the same, congruent information to all first responding agencies, aiding in response time and minimizing confusion.”
