edWeb.net and AWE Announce a New Professional Learning Community Focused on PreK-3 Digital Learning
Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) November 21, 2013 -- AWE, a developer of digital learning products for the PreK-3 market, has launched a professional learning community around PreK-3 Digital Learning on edWeb.net, a professional learning and social network for educators. The community is being announced at the NAEYC Conference (National Association for the Education of Young Children) in Washington, DC, this week.
The PreK-3 Digital Learning community provides a place where early childhood educators can learn about and discuss digital learning tools and media for students in Pre-Kindergarten to grade three. The community will host a series of complimentary webinars and online discussions for educators who seek to learn about the appropriate use of technology and who are looking for practical tools and resources to use in the classroom.
The inaugural webinar will be presented by Dr. Chip Donohue. Dr. Donohue is the Dean of Distance Learning and Continuing Education at the Erikson Institute, the Director of the TEC Center, and is also a senior fellow at the Fred Rogers Center. The kick-off event will be November 26 at 3:00 PM ET. Dr. Donohue will identify common concerns about young children and technology and highlight the benefits when educators select, use and integrate technology in ways that support healthy development and early learning.
