eFORCE Software CEO Receives Prestigious Service Member Patriot Award From U.S. Military
Logan, Utah (PRWEB) June 11, 2015 -- Cory Bowers, CEO and President of Intellichoice, Inc. (d.b.a. eFORCE Software), has been awarded the Service Member Patriot Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Sub-Unified Command under the United States Department of Defense.
The Patriot Award is given to individual supervisors or bosses who make an exceptional effort to support their employees, and their families, serving in the National Guard or Reserve.
According to the ESGR website, “the Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support Citizen Warriors through a wide range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed.”
Steve Kooyman, Project Manager/Customer Liaison at eFORCE Software, is an active member of the Air Force Reserves, and one of Bowers’ employees.
“From day one Cory has been a big advocate of what I do in the Air Force Reserves and what I did previously in my Active Duty days,” said Kooyman. “He has never dealt with an employee that is a military member, yet he sat down with me and agreed to support any way he could. Bowers feels it is important to acknowledge and honor the commitment of both veterans and those who continue to serve our country.
“We appreciate this award and highly respect the people of the armed services. If anyone should be recognized, it should be Mr. Kooyman and all those who have protected our freedoms. We can never repay and should never forget the unquestionable sacrifices they have made in our behalf.”
Kooyman has been employed by eFORCE Software for two years. In that time he has served two annual tours for two weeks at a time and will be deployed later this year. He describes his experience working for Bowers as being involved with, “a great company, excellent CEO and an amazing commitment to returning support to those who serve.”
The Patriot Award is the first level of additional ESGR employer awards, leading up to the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their outstanding support of employees serving in the Guard and Reserve. Once an individual has received the Patriot Award, he or she becomes eligible to earn each subsequent award.
An event was held to present the award to Bowers at the eFORCE Software office building, 1047 South 100 West, Suite 130 in Logan, on Monday, June 8 at 10:00 AM. The award was presented by ESGR Region 1 Area Chair and Retired Army Colonel E. Morty Jenkins.
