Egg Donation Without Exploitation: Protecting the Donor, the Mother and the Child on the Egg Donation Path to Parenthood
Woodstock, New York (PRWEB) February 11, 2015 -- On Thursday, February 26 & Thursday, March 5, at 8:30 PM EST Fertile Heart™ launches its 2015 Guest Teacher Series with a two-part teleconference, titled "Egg Donation without Exploitation: Protecting the Donor, the Mother and the Child on the Egg Donation Path to Parenthood."
Participants are welcome to register for the call through the Events Page of Fertile Heart.
"Egg donation is here to stay," said Fertile Heart founder, Julia Indichova. "If we turn the procedure itself into the 'evil' that does nothing but harm, we lose the opportunity to affect change in this contentious area of reproductive medicine."
Indichova is the author of Inconceivable (Three Rivers Press 2001) and The Fertile Female: How the Power of Longing for a Child Can Save Your Life and Change the World (Adell Press 2007). She founded Fertile Heart, a global patient driven community, in 1997. The Fertile Heart OVUM Work, is an original mind body program that emerged through Julia’s personal experience, counseling and teaching. The program, endorsed by thought leaders in the field, has been successfully used as an adjunct to assisted reproductive technologies, or as an independent fertility-enhancing tool.
“I know that getting pregnant through egg donation can become a source of healing for both the Mom-To-Be and the young woman who chooses to participate in the process," Julia Indichova continued. "The case histories of my former clients are a testament to the potential to use this path to parenthood as a life-affirming journey for everyone involved."
“What is also true, is that egg donation is the most costly, thus most profitable and potentially exploitive of all reproductive choices. With 'The Egg Donation without Exploitation Chat', we hope to contribute to a deeper dialogue about donor conception as both an instrument of healing and an often-misused form of treatment.”
The first "Egg Donation without Exploitation" chat will feature Dr. Frederick Licciardi, director of NYU Fertility Center’s Egg Donor Program, one of country’s largest and most successful centers. Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and reproductive endocrinology, Dr. Licciardi is experienced in all aspects of infertility therapy and surgery. Widely recognized as a thought leader in his field, he is an associate professor at the New York University School of Medicine and a recipient of numerous industry awards.
"I’m honored to offer the women and couples considering egg donation, the opportunity to engage in conversation with someone who has made such a significant contribution to the building of families," said Indichova.
“I’m also grateful for the Moms who will be joining us for the second session on March 5th to share their experience of using the Fertile Heart™ OVUM tools during their egg donation journey."
