(PRWEB) April 18, 2014 -- In supporting local students in their advancement of South Asian culture, the Embassy of Bangladesh has awarded local Arlington Williamsburg Middle School eighth grader Priyanka Bose the Appreciation Certificate and commemorative 150th Birth Anniversary of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore Coin. The honorable award was the only one conferred by his excellence in the Embassy of Bangladesh, Washington D.C., on Sunday, April 13th, 2014.
The award was conferred in recognition of Priyanka's dedication to classical South Asian dance and Indian classic dance forms. Priyanka began dancing in the first grade while attending Arlington Traditional School. She attends Culture School in the Washington Bangla School held every Saturday in the Gunston Community Center, thanks to the support from Arlington Arts program.
"I was so honored by the award and stunned when the Ambassador called me to the stage," says Priyanka Bose, "I have been dancing for as long as I can remember and I was really proud when the Ambassador and his wife recognized me for my efforts.
