EJL Wireless Research adds the Ericsson LTE RRUS 12 2100MHz AWS Remote Radio Unit to its DesigN Analysis Infrastructure (DNA-I) series of teardown reports
Salem, NH (PRWEB) April 13, 2015 -- EJL Wireless Research is announcing a new report within its proprietary DNA-I series, an Ericsson LTE 2x2 MIMO 2100MHz AWS B4 120W (2x60W) RRUS 12 unit.
“This is our first opportunity to look into the second generation 2x2 MIMO design philosophy for Ericsson’s remote radio unit platform and has allowed us to see substantial system architecture design changes between the prior generation RRUS 11 unit and the current RRUS 12 unit. The RRUS 12 contains two complete radio transceivers, two power amplifiers, and one duplexer filter to support 2x2 MIMO functionality and an extended channel bandwidth of 40MHz. The RRUS 12 RF output power is also higher at 60W per power amplifier as compared with 40W for the RRUS 11. The RRUS 12 is part of the RBS6601 Main/Remote BTS system and is the multi-standard radio architecture version of Ericsson's remote radio units that supports W-CDMA and LTE technologies” said founder and President, Earl Lum.
“The LTE Band 4 unit supports the current spectrum within the 2100MHz frequency band in North America for AWS-1 Blocks A-F. It however, does not support the newly auctioned AWS-3 Blocks G-J spectrum in the United States. Currently Band 4 spectrum supports mobile operators including AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless but not Sprint. We continue to be excited in having the opportunity to showcase the latest generation remote radio units, RF transceiver modules, BTS antennas, small cells, and digital baseband units from major wireless equipment OEMs as part of our DNA-I program,” says Lum.
EJL Wireless Research continues to lead the wireless market research segment with innovative and cutting edge research such as its DNA-I series of products.
The following semiconductor & passive component suppliers are included in this report: Analog Device, Coilcraft, Fairchild Semiconductor, Infineon Technologies, Nippon Chemi-Con, NXP Semiconductors, STMicroelectronics, TDK-Epcos, Texas Instruments, and Vishay Semiconductors.
