Electronics Purchasing Strategies Celebrates its Inaugural Year
Mansfield, MA (PRWEB) September 23, 2014 -- Electronics Purchasing Strategies – the online publication that empowers, informs and connects professionals in the electronics design, manufacturing and supply chain community -- celebrates its first year in business in September. Founded by three veteran journalists – Bolaji Ojo, Gina Roos and Barbara Jorgensen -- EPS has achieved some significant milestones in its inaugural year:
First Annual Purchasing Survey—Assisted by Beacon Technology Partners EPS conducted its first survey of electronics purchasing professionals. The survey provides a look at demographics, roles, skills and challenges for buyers of interconnects, passive and electromechanical components, power devices and semiconductors. The survey found the average purchasing professional is a 49-year-old male college graduate with 17 years of experience. Seventy-three percent of purchasing professionals who responded are very experienced in establishing and maintaining vendor relationships and 60% recommend new products and technologies during product development. Many have engineering backgrounds.
Robert Miller Exclusive – EPS published a series of exclusive and comprehensive reports profiling Canadian billionaire and entrepreneur Robert Miller, founder and owner of Future Electronics Inc., one of the world’s top 5 electronics components distributor. The interview with Mr. Miller covered a wide range of subjects, including the motivation for establishing the company, its growth strategy and plans for future expansion in Asia and Europe. Mr. Miller, who started his career in broadcasting before branching 50 years ago into electronics components distribution and then establishing Montreal, Canada-based Future Electronics, is known to be a highly private individual who grants few interviews but agreed to speak with EPS editor in chief Bolaji Ojo to discuss the history of the company and the objectives behind its establishment.
IP&E Marketplace -- The new and one-of-a kind marketplace serving electronic component manufacturers, distributors, raw material suppliers, designers and buyers within the interconnect, passive and electromechanical (IP&E) ecosystem went live at IP&E Marketplace in June. Designed and launched by BBG Enterprises Inc., the parent company of Electronics Purchasing Strategies magazine, and developed by New Angle Media on its proprietary wynd™ software platform, IP&E Marketplace is the only global community and marketplace devoted to IP&E. Its mission is to bring together companies and professionals—designers, manufacturers, distributors, purchasers, supply chain managers and logistics professionals—involved in the design, development and sale of interconnect, passive and electromechanical components across the electronics manufacturing industry.
