Gold Coast, Australia (PRWEB) April 20, 2015 -- Elena's Models published results of an informal investigation into hidden practices of pay per letter (PPL) dating sites listing Ukrainian women seeking foreign men for marriage. According to Elena Petrova, dating coach writing for blogs.elenasmodels.com, extensive review of discussions in online forums and social networking sites, as well as analysis and research of job listings point to multiple deceptive techniques employed by unethical Ukrainian operators.
The specifics of pay per letter (PPL) dating sites is that every communication from a man to his prospective bride requires payment. Letters, chats, phone calls, and sharing of photos evoke charges starting from $3 and onward. These payments are then shared between the listing agency and its layers of providers.
Based on multiple sources, Petrova states that the growing body of evidence demonstrates that women and men in Ukraine are being employed by unscrupulous local operators to pose as "brides" in online chats, send messages and letters from accounts of beautiful model-looking girls, with all participants of the scheme receiving percentage of income from the paid communication.
While PPL dating sites insist that payments are required for translations from English to the local dialect, the report lists consistent sources revealing that in many cases the communication is produced by substitutes without any input from the supposed Ukrainian female clients that male customers believe to be dating.
The report shows that marriage agencies in Ukraine advertise job vacancies for personnel, who are expected to converse online for 4-8 hours daily, promising income from $300 to $3000 a month. In addition, the review provides screenshots of numerous ads offering software mailers for famous Ukrainian PPL dating sites to automate sending of mails and chat invitations.
According to Petrova, who speaks both Russian and English fluently, marriage agency employees whose job is to sit through the nights chatting to unsuspecting admirers instead of pretty girls in the pictures claim earnings from as low as $7/month to $1000/month, with some authors claiming to be doing this job for years with stable monthly income of $300-$500.
Petrova's research shows that on average substitutes are paid around $2 per hour of chat, and $0.50-0.75 per letter. At these rates, they would need to work 5-8 hours daily constantly communicating with foreign gentlemen, to earn sums promised by ads, placed by marriage agency operators. Multiple sources listed in the report highlight that keeping foreigners communicating online through the dating sites for as long as possible is the main way for substitutes to accumulate sufficient earnings through the PPL scheme.
Petrova says that judging from the information widely available online through forums and blogs, knowledge of this system seems to be commonplace in Ukraine, with a number of forum contributors condemning the practice and calling it a scam.
Petrova's recommendation to males interested in contacts with Ukrainian women is to move away from PPL, if they want to meet ladies who are genuinely interested in them: "To avoid deception, stop paying per letter, get her direct email and phone number, and talk on Skype, which is free."
