Elevation Education Premieres New Bullying-Prevention and Financial Literacy Programs -- Exciting, Interactive Assemblies that Give Schools a Unique Educational Resource
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) April 27, 2014 -- Beginning April 28, 2014, Elevation Education will offer four new interactive, multimedia learning programs for K-8 schools throughout New York, Minnesota, Iowa and Western Wisconsin during the 2014-15 school year. The Empathy Explorers and Bully Cycle Snapshot highlight the dangers of bullying, and give students specific actions they can take to protect themselves and their friends from threatening behavior. Moo Money Meadows and Cash & Credit: Pay It Off teach students important concepts in financial literacy and helps them develop good money habits. These programs align with state and national standards, and help school administration meet key education mandates for their districts.
Elevation Education uses multisensory learning techniques to create an exciting and stimulating atmosphere that actively engages students with every topic. Two professional actors/hosts establish a theatrical setting to the material and use audience participation techniques to help engage the students emotionally with the content. “All our programs are educational, interactive and fun,” says Jon Mikkelsen, Creative Director for Elevation Education. “And they’re truly unique. We combine the professional actors with high-quality video and still images, concert lighting and a Student Response System™ to create educational competitions – where students learn as they compete. That builds a really exciting, game-like atmosphere that leads to increased student interest.”
The Empathy Explorers, Bully Cycle Snapshot, Moo Money Meadows and Cash & Credit: Pay It Off join the existing quartet of Elevation Education programs that feature the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and math). These interactive learning strategies get the entire school excited and talking about important educational subjects – and significantly enhance retention of the information. Students hear the important content, see it visually reinforced, physically engage with the content and are tested on the material. Mikkelsen concludes, “Teachers don’t typically have this kind of resource at their disposal. That’s what is so great about being able to offer schools our Elevation Education programming. These multiplatform productions really engage students on vital topics – like bullying prevention and financial literacy – adding real context to their current classroom curriculum.”
