Elizabeth, NJ Opens its Doors to the Public for a Sampling of its Diverse Cultural Cuisine on October 16th for the 11th Annual Taste of Elizabeth

On Monday, October 16th the 11th Annual Taste of Elizabeth, will be showcasing its diverse desiccant aromas and rich savoring flavors of more than 40 restaurants, bakeries and beverage vendors. Their selections will all be available to the public from 5PM to 8:30PM at the Renaissance Hotel, 1000 Spring Street, Elizabeth for the one low price of $35.
The Rotary Club of Elizabeth, celebrating its 100th year of service to the Greater Elizabeth Community, organizes the event. They are proud to feature a unique food-tasting event where they gather under one roof, the lively, multi-cultural community representing Elizabeth’s diverse culinary choices.
Explained Doug Harris, Chairman of this year’s Taste of Elizabeth, “Each year, the Taste combines the Greater Elizabeth area’s newest and most exciting restaurants, together with many popular traditional eateries. To have so many tempting selections all in one location, on one night, is truly outstanding.” He added, “The best part is the fact that all profits from the event are given to area charities by the Rotary Club of Elizabeth.”

During Taste of Elizabeth XI, guests will also be able to participate in a 50/50 raffle. Funds raised from the event will enable the Rotary Club to continue to provide financial grants to local non-profit agencies and to provide college scholarships through the Albert & Louise Davis Scholarship Fund of the Rotary Club of Elizabeth, Inc. Since 1986, the Davis Fund has granted $538,000 in scholarships to promising Elizabeth High School students. Another project involves the distribution of free dictionaries to every third grade student in Elizabeth and Hillside. In addition, the Club is fulfilling a $10,000 pledge to the new Emergency Department at Trinitas Regional Medical Center.
