NEW YORK (PRWEB) January 24, 2018 -- Ellevate Network, the leading network for professional women, is committed to closing the gender achievement gap, and works with partners to make it happen.
This week, Ellevate Network is launching their newest partnership with the Equilar Diversity Network (EDN). Launched in 2016, the EDN connects candidates from diversity organizations to corporate boards looking to fill available seats.
Senior business leaders in the Ellevate Network community will now have the opportunity to create a board candidate profile on the Equilar BoardEdge platform. This opportunity becomes an added benefit of Ellevate membership, in addition to exclusive access to online resources created by members for members, networking events in Ellevate’s 40+ chapters worldwide, and a global network of high-achieving industry leaders to lean on and learn from.
Ellevate Network’s 2017 Impact Survey results showed that getting on a corporate board continues to be a common interest for women in business, with 68% of Ellevate Network members citing it as a goal. According to a 2017 report by Deloitte, while some progress has been made — the percentage of women on boards in the U.S. in 2016 was up 1% from 2015 — women still only hold 20% of board seats.
As an organization committed to helping women achieve and exceed their professional goals, as well as close the achievement gap for women, Ellevate Network is thrilled to partner with Equilar to give members of the community an opportunity to position themselves as board-ready candidates.
“Ellevate Network values taking action in order to reach our goals as professional women. We’ve seen the power a diverse network can have on making the connections that will help women advance in their careers,” said Kristy Wallace, CEO for Ellevate Network.
“Our partnership with the EDN highlights our action-oriented values by connecting women in the Ellevate Network community with board opportunities. We’re proud to play this direct role in getting more women on boards and seeing more female representation in leadership. It’s happening, but not fast enough -- and through this partnership we’re looking to facilitate change that will lead to gender equality in leadership.”
Belen Gomez-Russum, Senior Director of Board Services at Equilar, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Ellevate Network to the Equilar Diversity Network. Ellevate is committed to advancing women in the workplace through connecting its community of professionals and investing in companies that are true leaders in gender diversity. Our common mission is to promote greater professional opportunities for the underrepresented, and we look forward to partnering with Ellevate members in this effort.”
Non-members who are looking to gain access to Ellevate Network’s many membership benefits, including a profile on the EDN for board opportunities, can sign up for membership with 20% off using the code MYYEAR. This promotion is valid until January 31, 2018.
