Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) October 09, 2014 -- Ellman Family Vineyards (EFV) is pleased to announce the release of their 2012 Alexis Skye Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Amanda Russian River Pinot Noir.
Our fruit for the 2012 Alexis Skye Pinot Noir was harvested from Claires Vineyards. Situated in the Sonoma Coast AVA, the climate provides moderating coolness from the coastal fog which is ideal for producing outstanding Pinot Noir.
The fruit for the 2012 Amanda Pinot Noir was harvested from Copain Vineyards, which is a top class vineyard in the Russian River Valley. The cool growing conditions of the Russian River promote complexity and balance, which is also ideal for producing outstanding Pinot Noir.
“It was wonderful to see the textbook growing conditions in 2012 that resulted in lush, properly ripened grapes that lead to some beautifully balanced and fruit driven wines,” said Kian Tavakoli, EFV’s winemaker.
“Like all of our releases, these new wines are crafted to our usual high standards that have earned us national acclaim from several well-known critics and placement into some of the finest restaurants, hotels and country clubs across the nation,” said Neil Ellman, co-founder of Ellman Family Vineyards.
Tasting Note for 2012 Alexis from our Winemaker
2012 Alexis Skye is a medium deep ruby garnet color with a vibrant bright red hue. This wine highlights raspberry, wild berry and floral scents that are mirrored on the complex and layered palate, leading to a long and lingering finish.
Tasting Note for 2012 Amanda from our Winemaker
2012 Amanda is deep bright strawberry red color. This lovely effort strikes a fine balance between rich red berry fruit and complex earthy, nutty flavors accentuated by subtle clove and dried herb notes. The finish is bridged beautifully with the mid-palate, and the rich finish fans out the flavors and gains traction.
