Elmhurst Resident Named Ms. Illinois Galaxy 2015
Elmhurst, Illinois (PRWEB) June 22, 2015 -- Kaili Harding, an Elmhurst resident and president of the Schaumburg Business Association, was recently named Ms. Illinois Galaxy 2015. The May 31 pageant took place at the Hilton Oak Lawn.
As Ms. Illinois Galaxy, Harding will compete with national and international winners at the 2016 Galaxy International Pageant® in August. The event takes place August 5–9 at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. According to the Galaxy organization, the pageant is “a progressive event that focuses on the future and challenges all women to make better tomorrows.”
Harding chose to enter the competition to help her build awareness for several causes that she enthusiastically supports. As the previous recipient of the title of Mrs. Illinois/America in 2005, Harding also understands how a pageant title can help women develop professionally and personally.
“You meet some of the most well-rounded and dynamic women competing in a pageant,” Harding stated. “It also gives you a platform and a big megaphone with which to promote causes near and dear to your heart.”
Although she is willing to help most any charitable organization in good standing, her priorities include:
• Diabetes, particularly childhood diabetes
• Abuse of women and children, including domestic violence and sexual abuse
• Veterans’ causes, particularly mental illness related
• Homelessness
• Animal welfare
Harding finds that her pageantry activities are a natural adjunct to her professional life.
“In my role as president of the Schaumburg Business Association, networking and connecting people and businesses together is my job,” she explained. “In the pageant world, this is exactly what you do as a title-holder; you’re constantly networking.”

Kaili’s diverse professional experience includes work in marketing, publishing and real estate, as well as significant chamber experience with the United States Army and the Clarksville, TN Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Center. Prior to joining the Schaumburg Business Association, Kaili worked as marketing director with one of the largest employers and retailers in the Schaumburg area.
