Elmspring and Camp Native Look To Bring Business Intelligence to the Great Outdoors
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 20, 2015 -- Camp Native CEO David Woodbury, an avid camper himself, intends to change that. “Many of the private campgrounds out there,” he explains, “are offline. The few that have any web presence don’t allow you to book in advance or tell you what the experience is going to be like. By improving the booking experience, we’re going to improve the marketplace and connect landowners to campers.”
Woodbury’s is one of five tech startups participating in Session 2.0 of the elmspring accelerator, fast becoming the Midwest’s premier destination for launching tech companies in real estate and related spaces. “When we set out to find the next big idea in real estate technology, I’m not sure the bare ground is what we had in mind!” jokes elmspring CEO Thomas Bretz. “Camp Native is a great idea— it’s the technology that will create the marketplace, not the other way around.”
Woodbury agrees, citing the wide availability of private campground space that is thoroughly under-marketed, and the huge pool of adventurous, tech-savvy travelers eager to use a reliable booking tool to plan their vacations. The Camp Native Website will create the missing links between landowners and campers, with a user-friendly search and booking experience that finally takes camping into the digital age.
Bretz and his team are rolling up their sleeves to help Camp Native through an intensive three-month session, where they and the other participants will receive the seed funding, mentorship, working space at Chicago’s 1871, and resources they need to prepare their product for a pitch to venture capitalists. Camp Native will be joined by CondoGrade, which helps investors assess the financial health of condo associations; PeerRealty, a crowd funding platform for middle market real estate investors; HerbFront, a real estate search tool for legal cannabis businesses, and Megalytics, a data analysis service for real estate investment.
