Emmanuel College Launches Brand Advancement Strategy to Build on Tradition and Position for the Future
Boston, Massachusetts (PRWEB) September 06, 2016 -- Emmanuel College today introduced two new logos as components of a comprehensive strategy to bolster its profile as a leader in liberal arts and sciences education.
Since its decision, in 2000, to transition to coeducation in its undergraduate programs, Emmanuel has more than tripled its enrollment. The College’s evolution has brought an expansion of academic offerings, new faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and championship athletic programs. The enhanced brand strategy reflects the College’s commitment to ensure its ongoing strength as it approaches its Centennial in 2019 and prepares for its second century.
“Emmanuel College has a compelling story to tell, and with this initiative we are telling it with greater clarity, impact and reach,” said Sister Janet Eisner, SND, President of the College. “Our aim is to bring awareness of Emmanuel into line with the extraordinary reality of our Catholic educational mission, programs, community, student successes and location in the heart of Boston.”
As an integral component of Emmanuel’s brand advancement initiative, the College is introducing two new logos:
Institutional Logo—This centerpiece of the new visual identity features a contemporary rendering of Emmanuel’s iconic Administration Building, evoking the College’s rich tradition and focus on the future.
Athletics and Spirit Logo—The St. Bernard was originally bred to rescue stranded travelers in treacherous conditions. The breed’s energy and dedication are emblematic of Emmanuel’s commitment to excellence and service to others.
The initiative launched in spring of 2015 with a brand discovery phase that involved qualitative, quantitative and experiential research data gathered from more than 1,000 current students, alumni, faculty, staff, trustees, prospective students and guidance counselors. The second and third phases of the project have involved the development of a messaging platform, an updated visual identity, and the early stages of implementation including revamped undergraduate admissions materials.
Data gathered during the research phase led to the development of an institutional value proposition:
At Emmanuel, we go all in: we dream big, work hard and achieve great things. Located in the heart of the world’s greatest college town, Emmanuel gives ambitious students access to excellent academics, robust student life programs and outstanding career opportunities within an engaged residential community strengthened by shared values and a proud Catholic heritage.
“The higher education industry is continually evolving as are channels and standards of communication,” said Bob McDonald, Emmanuel’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “The new brand platform equips the College to convey its defining characteristics in a consistent and unified way.”
Emmanuel partnered with three Boston-area firms to assist in the branding initiative, working as a unified team: kor group, which specializes in communications strategy and design; Libretto, a strategic messaging and content development firm; and Maguire Associates, a market research and educational consulting firm.
