Empire Oyster and 3 Daughters Brewing Launch First Annual Oyster Social
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (PRWEB) June 18, 2018 -- 3 Daughters Brewing, one of the fastest growing regional breweries from Florida, is partnering with Empire Oyster to launch the first annual Sunshine City Oyster Social. The event will celebrate the pairing of oysters from the premiere local Tampa Bay oyster bar with locally made craft beer, ciders and hard seltzers. This event will feature a unique oyster experience with all oysters shucked live next to a station where guests can learn to shuck their own.
Empire Oyster will offer 15-20 varieties of the finest wild and farmed oysters from the Pacific, Atlantic and Gulf Coasts. Oysters will be dressed with Empire Oyster’s collection of sauces and toppings that includes 3 kinds of fresh made Mignonette. Additional food will include jumbo grilled oysters from Empire Oysters and a full menu from The Surly Mermaid Food Truck.
In addition to fresh oysters, 3 Daughters Brewing will offer a specialty Oyster Gose Craft Beer flavored with empty oyster shells during the brewing process. There will also be a Lemelon Cider that blends lemon and melon with a crisp bite and a dry finish. Both local offerings will be crafted by Head Brewer, Ty Weaver to compliment the briny, savory flavor of oysters. These specialty beverages will be poured from the Shuck Truck, a 1967 Chevy Sportsvan Deluxe which Empire Oyster has outfitted with a state of the art tap system.

The event will be a “ShellRaiser” where spent shells will be recovered and recycled by Oysters Unlimited™. The shells and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Tampa Bay Watch for use in future oyster reef restoration projects. According to Tampa Bay Watch Executive Director Peter Clark, donated shells from these types of events can help to create up to 60,000 oysters in the Tampa Bay and filter over one billion gallons of water.
