Employee Flexibility Seen as Key 2016 Trend, Employers Turn to Chaplains to Meet Needs
Plano, Texas (PRWEB) January 09, 2016 -- Flexibility and working with Millennials and families are two of the biggest trends forecasted for 2016 according to a variety of New Year’s studies done by Forbes Magazine, PricewaterhouseCooper, and U.S. News and World Report.
These are some of the exact same issues being addressed by a growing number of U.S. and International companies who utilize the services of Marketplace Chaplains, America’s original and largest workplace chaplaincy organization.
Over the last three years, Marketplace Chaplains has gained more than 100 companies each year, a record number, as more and more innovative CEOs are choosing to address the increasing changes in the workplace by thinking outside-of-the box to meet the needs of their employees and their family members.
“We have a health care policy, but personal and emotional health is just as important as physical health,” said Vernon Peterson, CEO of Peterson Farms, a large commercial fruit packing plant outside of Fresno, California, which employs Marketplace Chaplains for its employees. “If you are doing a job like this every day you have a lot of time to think about your problems, and it can become unbearable,” said Erik Peterson, son of CEO Vernon Peterson, who also works at Peterson Farms.
“I have a lot of young people who work for me, and they have a lot of questions and a lot of problems with many of them in the workforce for the first time,” added client company leader Randy Turnbow, Chairman of EME Inc. in Compton, California.
The Forbes article,1 “10 Workplace Trends You'll See In 2016,” written by Dan Schawbel details workplace flexibility as the third top trend employees are facing for 2016, stating the average worker now works 47 hours a week and 64% of managers expect their employees to be reachable outside of the office on their personal time.
“This is a very interesting concept [Marketplace Chaplains] for us because it shows actions truly speak louder than words in helping others. Our jobs are stressful and we are always saying we care for our people, and having chaplains puts those words into action,” said David Kahler, CEO of Kahler Black Hills Reality in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Workplace flexibility, such as full-time virtual work, occasional telecommuting, staggered work hours, etc., was also listed as a 2016 trend in a U.S. News and World Report article.2 “Hopefully, employers are doing their job to keep people engaged, but if not, make sure that you ask the right questions,” said Lenny Sanicola, benefits senior practice leader at World at Work in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Marketplace Chaplains currently works with more than 3,600 client company locations, with nearly 2,000 chaplains serving in 45 states, and in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, China and Korea.
“These visionary CEOs realize the greatest trend for this and every year in business is taking care of their employees and their family members. By having Marketplace Chaplains in their companies they are showing they care for their most valuable assets,” said Marketplace CEO and Executive President Doug Fagerstrom.
