Employees Vote Hodges-Mace One of the Best Places to Work in Georgia in 2016
(PRWEB) July 11, 2016 -- Hodges-Mace, LLC is honored to be named One of the Best Places to Work in Georgia in 2016. Created by Georgia Trend Magazine, Best Companies Group, and SHRM, the award recognizes Georgia’s best employers and attracts a diverse group of contenders from across the state.
This is the first year Hodges-Mace has competed for Georgia’s Best Places to Work Award. The distinction is especially significant because it is based 100% on employee feedback. Almost 70% of Hodges-Mace’s employees participated in the survey, citing corporate culture, charitable activities, and employer gratitude as major reasons why they love working at Hodges-Mace.
Founded in 2004 by Greg Hodges and Peter Mace, the company provides employee benefit management solutions to clients across the U.S. Since the beginning, Hodges-Mace has taken great pride in building a business where people want to come to work and where employees enjoy being part of a great team. This achievement validates those efforts.
Why Hodges-Mace
Georgia Trend cites the company’s generosity as one of the reasons Hodges-Mace is One of Georgia’s Best Employers. Each year, the company offers two days paid time off to employees to volunteer at a charity of their choosing. Another example of philanthropy is the company’s “Bowling for Dollars” event that raised $17,000 for groups including the Georgia Special Olympics, Camp Southern Ground and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
“Hodges-Mace is a compassionate organization that attracts high integrity people seeking an authentic work environment,” notes Suzanne Hough, Chief Human Resources Officer. “Being Named One of the Best Places to Work is a powerful recruiting tool for obvious reason. At the end of the day, it’s the ultimate accolade.”
Award Criteria
The employer questionnaire included information about company policies, practices and demographics, while the employee survey asked about eight core areas: leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications, role satisfaction, work environment, relationship with supervisor, training, development and resources, pay and benefits, and overall engagement.
The survey and awards program honors the best employers in Georgia, benefiting the region's economy, workforce and businesses. The 2016 list is made up of 17 companies.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Georgia. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Georgia, analyzed the data and determined the final rankings.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity
