Employment Website JobsWeb.com Reports a 5.2 Percent Decrease in Postings for November 2015
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) December 31, 2015 -- JobsWeb.com, the leading employment website for professionals in every industry, reports a decrease of 5.2 percent in the number of job postings to its site for the month of November 2015 compared to the previous month. November’s decrease in the number of job postings marks a drop from the 4.2 percent increase reported in October 2015.
The employment website’s drop in job postings for the month aligns with the decrease in the number of overall jobs gained in November as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday, December 4, 2015. According to the Economic Situation report, total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 211,000 in November, a drop of 29.2 percent from October’s gain of 298,000 jobs.
Unemployment for the month of November remained unchanged at 5 percent, or 7.9 million. Over the last 12 months, unemployment and the number of unemployed persons dropped by 0.8 percent and 1.1 million, respectively. Last month, job gains primarily occurred in construction, professional and technical services, and health care, while mining and information both lost jobs.
Employment within the construction sector rose by 46,000 last month, with 56 percent of growth occurring in residential specialty trade contractors (26,000). Over the last year, construction employment has grown by 259,000 jobs.
The professional and technical services sector added 28,000 jobs, with gains in accounting and bookkeeping services (11,000), management and technical consulting services (5,000), and computer systems design and related services (4,800). Over the year, professional and technical services has added 298,000 jobs.
Health care employment gained 24,000 jobs over the month, following a large gain in October (51,000). Health care employment has grown by 470,000 over the year.
Losses for the month occurred in mining and information, which lost 11,000 and 12,000 jobs respectively.
Total nonfarm payroll employment for September and October was revised from 137,000 to 145,000 and 271,000 to 298,000, respectively. With these revisions, employment gains in September and October combined were 35,000 more than previously reported.
