Enbala and NorthWrite Integrate Symphony by Enbala DER Platform with Agile Volt Building Management System
Vancouver, British Columbia (PRWEB) July 14, 2016 -- Enbala Power Networks and NorthWrite, Inc. announce a new partnership through which the Symphony by Enbala distributed energy resource (DER) management platform will integrate with NorthWrite’s Agile Volt building management system.
Symphony by Enbala is a distributed energy aggregation, optimization and control platform that leverages flexible loads, energy storage and renewable energy to keep the power grid in balance. Agile Volt is a cloud-based based smart-building solution for small- and medium-sized commercial and industrial customers—bringing together innovative financing, insurance, control and operations features. Working in tandem, the two technologies will provide a new segment of C&I customers with sophisticated distributed energy resource management capabilities and benefits that have not previously been available to them.
“The Symphony by Enbala software is designed to tap available distributed energy resources and leverage their flexibility for the electric grid. Small to medium C&I customers make up a large percentage of overall energy consumption and are thus a critical sector when it comes to achieving the world’s energy efficiency and sustainability goals,” noted Arthur “Bud” Vos, Enbala’s CEO. “Today, however, most of these customers don’t have the funds or subject matter expertise needed to leverage modern distributed energy programs. The new partnership between Enbala and NorthWrite changes this dynamic, opening the distributed energy resource door to a much larger number of participants.”
Leveraging the DER management capabilities of the Enbala platform, any size business can now use the Agile Volt system to participate in demand response programs and focus on improving their bottom line through reduced energy consumption. This will help decrease operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions. It will also create new sources of revenue. The integrated solution is currently undergoing deployments in New York and can be leveraged wherever there are appropriate programs for customers.
“Through cloud-to-cloud integration between our system and the Symphony by Enbala platform, smaller businesses can now become active players in the distributed energy market,” said Patrick O'Neill, founder and CEO of NorthWrite. “This is a first for both utilities and their small commercial customers, and it removes the barriers that have historically kept these customers off of the energy management playing field. If we do our jobs right, most of the DER activity will be invisible to the customer—avoiding customer fatigue and ensuring longer-term, higher participation rates.”
