Austin, Texas (PRWEB) June 08, 2016 -- Encast CEO Leo Ramirez, Jr. has been named as a participant in the Stanford Latino Entrepreneur Leaders Program (SLELP), which was jointly developed by the Stanford faculty and the Latino Business Action Network (LBAN). Ramirez, who is the co-founder of Encast (http://encast.co/), a technology platform that has created Giving as a Service, is among only eighty Latino business people from across the country invited to the prestigious course.
“I am flattered, honored, excited, and any other word you can come up with to communicate enthusiasm,” Ramirez said. “There are so many terrific people included that I hope to learn from. I am certain that the insights gained from SLELP will help us grow our WorkHERO charitable giving technology at Encast.”
The SLELP program is to help Latino business owners learn how to scale their businesses. The six-week course offers insights into accessing capital, mentorship from investors and successful entrepreneurs, how to create jobs, and a better understanding of resources needed to grow businesses. Ramirez, an alumnus of Stanford from the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, met the exacting criteria used to qualify for the training.
“To be considered for this program,” Stanford’s public announcement states, “the preferred criteria for applicants is to have either generated $1 million in revenue or have raised $1 million in funding. They are part of an elite and talented group of innovators and business leaders whose drive, work ethic, and ambition will help to grow our economy and communities across the United States.”
Ramirez and Encast recently closed an angel round of investment of $2.25 million to launch the Austin-based startup. The company is launching technology to increase charitable giving by companies and their employees.
Two internationally recognized experts in scaling businesses, Stanford professors Huggy Rao and Bob Sutton, will lead SLELP students in a customized online curriculum. SLELP participants represent more than 40 industries, 50 U.S. cities, and 18 states (and Puerto Rico.)
