Engage3™ Unveils Mobile Shopping App, ShoppingScout™, That Saves Consumers Money on Groceries and Everyday Shopping Items
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- This past week, Engage3™ provided a sneak peek of their new mobile app, ShoppingScout™.
Although still in beta, Engage3 unveiled their mobile ShoppingScout app at the GMIC Silicon Valley Mobile Conference which was held at San Francisco’s Moscone Center October 21st through the 23rd, 2013. The mobile app, powered by the company’s patented Web 3.0 shopping platform and comprehensive database of retail products and prices, drew crowds eager to see how they can save significant time and money while shopping for everyday goods.
Conference attendees were delighted to discover that not only did ShoppingScout serve up savings at local retailers, but also recommended healthy alternatives based on their personal preferences.
“Everyone wants to save more on their grocery bill, but most of us want to avoid the tedious task of going through sales circulars to compare prices,” remarked Cathie Anderson, Sacramento Bee Business Columnist. “ShoppingScout takes on that job. It was created by two guys whose parents had them running up and down grocery aisles doing price-checks from the ages of 7 and 8.”
The ShoppingScout™ App
Offered as a free web and mobile app, ShoppingScout was designed with simplicity in mind:
• Users can create personal shopping lists and add items merely by scanning products in their pantries, cupboards, refrigerators or on store shelves.
• Healthy alternatives, such as gluten free or non-GMO products are automatically suggested when items are added.
• Ingredients from qualified partner blogs and recipe sites auto-populate user’s shopping lists. Users need only to click the ShoppingScout “local pricing” button to have their items and local pricing sent to their email and mobile devices.
“Engage3, with their new application "ShoppingScout" now has a tremendous opportunity to significantly change the manner in which consumers can profitably negotiate with manufacturers and retailers," said Robert Medearis, founder and chairman of the founding Board of Silicon Valley Bank. "This application will have immediate and long term benefits to both Engage3 and the consumers and I am excited to work with Engage3’s executive team in helping shape their strategy and tactics in developing this platform which will open up new market opportunities which previously were not available."
Under the hood, the ShoppingScout platform is all but simple. In real-time it is negotiating millions of combinations of products and pricing, interacting with its nearly 3 Million product database and 10 Billion prices across more than 30,000 stores throughout the U.S. and Canada.
“Shoppers are saving up to 40% on their everyday retail items by using ShoppingScout,” stated Ken Ouimet, founder and CEO of Engage3. “This is just the tip of the iceberg. As manufacturers, retailers, consumers and developers embrace our platform, price negotiating will become irrelevant.”
