Entrepreneur Josh Haddon Announces Candidacy for Windsor City Council in Ward 4
Windsor, Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) July 29, 2014 -- In the upcoming election for Windsor City Council in Ward 4, Josh Haddon has announced his declaration of candidacy. Haddon is a local businessperson and is the founder of both the Comedy Quarry and Border City Comedy Fest in Windsor. Josh Haddon is a job creator, who has created over 100 well-paying jobs since 2004. Haddon has also been a consultant, helping men and women across Windsor to start their own businesses, and is currently working with the Federal Government to establish a small business owner assistance center in Ward 4.
“I intend to bring my passion and experience as an entrepreneur to City Council to put Ward 4 and Windsor on a path to prosperity,” Josh Haddon said. “I am currently working with governments on the Federal and Provincial level to bring a state of the art, not-for-profit small business support center to Windsor.”
Josh Haddon has been involved with several local organizations such as the Windsor-Essex Heart and Stroke Foundation and local Windsor’s Youth at the Sandwich Teen Action Group. As a community activist with a “business-focused” attitude, Haddon claims to know what the neighborhood needs.
“I will bring focus to our community needs by bringing a fresh perspective and new ideas to further our city and neighborhoods, both economically and socially,” Josh Haddon said. “During this campaign I will be offering the residents of Ward 4 the chance to be heard.”
“By being fiscally responsible and socially responsive, I will work to move our city forward, and we must continue to move our city forward,” he said. “Behind me is a telling statement of our local economy. While it is improving, we need to do more. In talking with our neighbors here in Ward 4, it becomes very clear that they feel there is a blight issue in some pockets of the Ward. I will work with my colleagues to develop a plan to eliminate blight from our neighborhoods and business districts. This starts with job creation, which will make our great neighborhoods even greater. It will build upon our proud past by respecting our environment and our community history as well.”
Haddon was a semi-finalist to win Rising Leader of the Year by the Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce in 2013, and was also the winner of the 2002 Entrepreneur of the Year award. He writes for numerous publications across many genres and performs stand-up comedy in his spare time.
