EnviroForensics’ Megan Hamilton to Present on Impacts of Vapor Intrusion at International Conference
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) March 10, 2015 -- EnviroForensics proudly announces that Megan Hamilton, Director of Risk Communication and Technical Lead of the company's Vapor Intrusion team, will present as a guest presenter at the Association for Environmental Health and Sciences’ 25th Annual International Conference on Soil, Water, Energy, and Air. The event will take place in San Diego, California between March 23 and March 25. Hamilton, a seasoned Risk Assessor and Vapor Intrusion Specialist, will address a number of key issues surrounding the impacts of vapor intrusion on the environment to 500 – 600 attendees including state and federal regulatory agencies, leaders in the petroleum, chemical, and transportation industries, and peer professionals from various environmental consulting firms throughout the country. This is the first in a series of lectures and presentations in which she will present this year.

Hamilton is also scheduled to speak at the conference’s EPA VI Exposures workshop on long-term, evidence-based protection and sustainability.
At Enviroforensics, Hamilton is responsible for evaluating analytical results, developing project strategy, designing investigations, determining risks and impacts to human health and overseeing mitigation measures on sites impacted by chlorinated solvents and petroleum hydrocarbons. Hamilton is the main contact for risk communication issues and community outreach development. With more than 15 years of experience in environmental regulatory oversight and consulting, Hamilton has built a reputation as one of the industry’s premiere VI experts.

Prior to joining Enviroforensics, Hamilton spent 9 years as a technical, scientific, and risk assessment policy resource for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s (IDEM) Office of Land Quality. For 6 years, she served as the coordinator and team leader for the IDEM Vapor Intrusion Workgroup, during which she authored the state’s current Vapor Intrusion guidance.
Hamilton presented at last year's Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA) Vapor Intrusion, Remediation, and Site Closure Conference as part of a panel discussion with Dr. Henry Schuver of EPA and Dave Gillay of Barnes and Thornburg. The panel, titled "The Vapor Intrusion Game Plan: Insights and Recent Updates on Key Technical, Legal, and Regulatory Aspects to Successfully Manage this Evolving Pathway," was one of two opportunities to present with Gillay in 2014. Both co-presented a series of webinars, titled “The Vapor Intrusion Playbook.” Hamilton has spoken at several national conferences, is a member of the National EPA VI Science Advisory Committee, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Midwestern States Environmental Consultants Association (MSECA).
