Environmental Design Research Association Welcomes Proposals for Oral and Poster Presentations
McLean, VA (PRWEB) August 22, 2013 -- The Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA) invites submissions for its 45th Annual Conference, EDRA45NewOrleans, to be held May 28-31, 2014 at the Astor Crowne Plaza in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. The theme of this year’s conference, "Building With Change," focuses on new research methods and design strategies for the human habitation of our dynamic environment. Conference themes will engage diverse approaches to building with change, from resisting dynamic environmental forces to accepting and accommodating them.
“EDRA45 asks what we can gain by building a more robust relationship between the inhabited and natural environment,” said Jeffrey Carney, AICP, EDRA45 co-chair and director of the LSU Coastal Sustainability Studio. “As a research community we seek to build a body of knowledge, and combination of design and research that elevates the inhabitable environment to something that is not only beautiful or merely functional, but that also adapts to the complex needs of an ever-changing landscape.”
The submission deadline for papers, abstracts, symposia, workshops and professional development tutorials is September 20, 2013. The submission deadline for display poster presentations and EDRAShorts is November 22, 2013. All proposals must be submitted online at http://edra45.abstractcentral.com/.
EDRA’s annual conferences are renowned international events that focus on research and design presentations in a variety of formats.
