Epee Clinic With Michael Marx Coming to Academy of Fencing Masters
Campbell, CA (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- Academy of Fencing Masters and The Bay Cup are hosting an epee clinic featuring Michael Marx, five-time Olympian and the USA Fencing Hall of Fame member, on Sunday, September 15, 2013.
The epee clinic with Michael Marx will be held on September 15th at Academy of Fencing Masters in Campbell. Possible topics that will be addressed are mental games, tactical bouts, footwork tempo and tactics, foot/hand tempo and technical refinement. Pre-registration ends on September 11th.
“We are so excited and honored to arrange for Michael Marx to be featured in our first AFM hosted event,” stated Irina Chirashnya, founder of Academy of Fencing Masters. “Michael has given so much to the world of fencing and has worked to increase the exposure the sport receives in America. He has received a record eight U.S. National Championships. This opportunity is one that fencer at the intermediate level or higher should capitalize on.”
“Fencers will be able to learn and improve their foot/hand and footwork tempos, refine their technique and both observe and practice tactical bouts,” Chirashnya explained. “In taking this clinic, they will get guidance from one of the most distinguished American fencing masters.”
“If a fencer is interested, we recommended that he/she registers soon,” Chirashnya stressed. “We need 17 fencers to register in order for the clinic to occur. However, we also are capping the enrollment at 40.”
Mark Wheeler, Director of Operations for The Bay Cup, says of training with Michael Marx, “You will likely come away with a fresh perspective on tactics, your fencing game, your approach to drilling, and, for you fencer/coaches or coaches out there, some new ideas for effective coaching techniques.”
