Eric D’Angelo, Sweet Home High School Senior, Receives Casullo’s Automotive Services Scholarship

Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- Yesterday evening, Eric D’Angelo of Sweet Home High School was the recipient of a $500.00 grant by Rocco Casullo, alumnus from the class of 1988 and President of Casullo's Automotive Services, Inc.

To be considered for this scholarship, a student must demonstrate achievement in their vocational area, and have a desire to explore their vocational career in the future. In addition, the student must participate in community service throughout their high school career. The award was presented to Eric by Mr. Casullo at the June 17th Awards Assembly.

The scholarship granted by Rocco Casullo of Casullo’s Automotive Services is sponsored annually.

"Eric is a great example of a young man who applied himself at an early age, not only to follow his career interests but to give back to our community, which is equally important," said Rocco Casullo. The scholarship was organized with Casullo by the Citizen's Scholarship Foundation of America.

Created in 1989, Sweet Home’s 'Dollars for Scholars' is a program affiliated with the Citizen’s Scholarship Foundation of America (CSFA), a program that some colleges and universities will match a grant awarded from. When 'Dollars for Scholars' was created 23 years ago, they awarded one scholarship in the amount of $500. As of 2012, the amount of scholarship money given by Sweet Home’s Division of Dollars for Scholars has grown to $15,000. The total amount of monetary awards under the Dollars for Scholars division has risen from $500 in 1989 to nearly $45,000, given to the class of 2012.

Rocco Casullo was recently elected to Sweet Home High School’s Alumni Hall of Fame, based on his success as a local business owner and ongoing commitment to the local community. He is the owner of Casullo’s Automotive Services, a Buffalo, NY auto accessories & vehicle service shop, which he founded in 1990.
