Hala Martin was promoted to partner from senior manager. Martin is a member of EY’s Assurance practice, where she provides assurance and advisory services to private and large multinational public companies in the technology industry. She also has experience advising private equity and public company clients on financial and operational due diligence projects. Martin earned her Master of Business Administration degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and also holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Concordia University in Montreal. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Sam Wijesekera was promoted to partner from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Assurance practice and focuses on providing assurance and advisory services to companies in the consumer products and services industry. He was seconded to the EY member firm in London’s Capital Markets group from 2010 to 2013, where he served as a U.S. GAAP and SEC technical resident, assisting U.S. public companies across Europe. Wijesekera earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Stan Willis was promoted to partner from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Assurance practice and has extensive experience serving financial services clients, including large private equity and hedge funds. He has been a speaker at various asset management industry events, and is known in the Bay Area alternatives community for his operational and accounting expertise. Willis graduated from California State University, Chico, summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California, a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
John Gunn was promoted to partner from senior manager. With 13 years of diversified income tax experience, Gunn is a member of EY’s Tax practice where he assists multinational corporations with income tax accounting, tax advisory and tax compliance matters. He serves clients in a range of industries from start-ups to large multinational companies. Gunn has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and earned a Master of Accounting with a concentration in Taxation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Michael Winter was promoted to principal from executive director. He is a member of EY’s Advisory practice where he leads the regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering efforts in the West for EY’s Financial Services Office. Winter has 19 years of experience serving financial services firms, with a specific focus on regulatory compliance, operational risk management and business process improvements. Prior to joining EY, he led a boutique consulting firm and was a senior vice president with Bank of America, holding various positions within legal, compliance, technology and operations and front office business management. Winter received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Finance) from California State University, Chico and earned his Juris Doctor degree at Golden Gate University School of Law.
Brett Dolnick was promoted to principal from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Advisory practice, where he is focused on IT Transformation services and currently leading EY’s first full implementation of the ServiceNow platform. Dolnick joined EY’s San Francisco office in 2011 after nearly 20 years working in managed services and industry. He has a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder and has been active with the Civil Air Patrol, USAF Auxiliary for the last 30 years, currently serving as the San Francisco Bay Area Group Commander.
Liz Lippert was promoted to principal from senior manager. She is a member of EY’s Transaction Advisory Services practice, where she is focused on strategy advisory services in the private equity and consumer sectors through Parthenon-EY. Lippert’s work has included due diligence services, corporate growth strategy, profitability improvement, customer segmentation studies and exit planning. She has served clients in the private equity, consumer products and services, restaurant, retail, online retail and consumer education products and services industries. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where she was an F.C. Austin Scholar.
Marc Zametto was promoted to principal from senior manager and he is a member of EY’s Transaction Advisory Services practice. Zametto provides tax diligence and structuring advice for buy-side and sell-side transactions, as well as joint ventures and other restructurings. He serves both corporate and private equity clients, with a primary focus in the technology sector. Prior to joining EY, Zametto worked as a tax attorney in New York at two international law firms. He holds a bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor degree from Louisiana State University and a Master of Laws degree from New York University. Zametto is a member of the New York, Florida and Louisiana state bar associations.
Albert Niemi was promoted to executive director from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Transaction Advisory Services practice, where he focuses on valuing business enterprises, equity and debt interests, and various intangible assets associated with businesses for financial reporting, tax planning and strategic planning purposes. Niemi serves clients in the technology, retail, asset management and telecommunications sectors. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and earned his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Accounting from the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
Eryn Kantor was promoted to executive director from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Advisory practice, where his primary focus is on government-sponsored health programs. Kantor assists payors in performing project management for system and product implementations, finance transformations and enterprise-wide process improvement. His latest projects include administrative cost reduction for payors, implementing MMIS systems for state Medicaid agencies and supporting health plans with implementing government-sponsored health exchanges. Kantor received a bachelor’s degree in Health Policy from the University of Rochester and a master of public health from the University of California, Berkeley.
Sean Cremen was promoted to executive director from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Financial Accounting Advisory practice and has extensive experience assisting a broad range of clients with complex accounting and financial reporting matters. Cremen was seconded to the EY member firm in London’s Global Professional Practice group from 2008 to 2011. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Commerce and Accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Chartered Accountant in South Africa.
Lisa Oliver was promoted to director from associate director. She is a member of EY’s Core Business Services practice, where she focuses on risk management, specifically around client and engagement acceptance and continuance. A California native, Oliver has been with EY for 16 years and previously worked in the strategy and corporate development group, with a focus on EY’s investments and alliances. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and her MBA with a focus in Finance at the University of San Francisco.
Mark Fuell was promoted to director from associate director. He is a member of EY’s Core Business Services practice, where he leads the talent acquisition recruitment function, responsible for identifying and engaging with potential hires across all EY service lines. In addition, Fuell manages the U.S. employee referral program and is a member of the Americas recruitment leadership team. Fuell has overseen the growth of the talent acquisition team to more than 80 recruiters nationwide. He was born in London, grew up in Brussels, Belgium and moved to San Francisco 16 years ago. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Science from the University of London.
Mary Miranda was promoted to director from associate director. She is a member of EY’s Core Business Services practice, where she is the lead people consultant for transaction advisory services in the West. Miranda is also focused on talent development, specifically in executive and team coaching. As an executive coach, she works with future leaders to achieve their personal and professional potential, and as a team coach, she is focused on building high-performing teams to better develop EY professionals and serve EY clients. Miranda graduated from California State University, East Bay (formerly Hayward), with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California and is currently pursuing her executive coaching credential.
