eSSETS Adds Innovative Reservations and Transfers Features to Asset Management Software Suite
Springfield, MO (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- Asset and facilities management software developer eSSETS (http://www.essets.com) recently announced new innovations to their cloud-based software solution—two Activity types known as Reservations and Transfers.
Assets and facilities management software helps companies manage and track physical equipment, property, and infrastructure. eSSETS allows them to maximize value, control expenses and operate more efficiently for full asset lifecycles. eSSETS monitors every Activity of Places and Things. Reservations work for Places, such as a conference room, and Things, like company computers or vehicles. Each reservation is set for a specific start time, end time and time range. Transfers track when an item changes possession from one person or entity to another—for example, when an employee takes possession of a company tablet or a laptop computer.
These two Activity types are closely related. A Reservation can easily be converted into a Transfer. In this situation, the pre-planned Reservation date and time is converted to an actual date and time for the Transfer. As an example, consider a situation where a company manager has reserved a company car from Monday at 8am through Friday at 5pm of an upcoming week. On the designated Monday, he picks up the car at 10:30am and brings it back on Friday at 3:30pm. The activity history of the car would now reflect the exact dates and times of his use of the vehicle.
A similar procedure would be used with a Place, such as a meeting room or training center. While related to Reservations, Transfers can be used on their own. For instance, if an iPad is issued to all newly hired sales people for presentations, the Transfer would show it in their possession until they exchange it for a new one, or return it when they leave the firm.
In addition, Administrators can set up lists of People or Organizations involved with reserving or taking possession of Places and Things. The cloud-based enterprise asset management software has default categories including Staff, Contractor, Tenant and Lease. Clients can easily add new labels appropriate for their industry. A hospital might add labels such as Doctor, Patient and Administrator, while a university could add Professor, Graduate Assistant, and Student.
"We are constantly working with our clients to identify new functions and features that will improve manageability and efficiency," said eSSETS founder and CEO Paul Roberts. He adds, "Both Reservations and Transfers were requested by a variety of clients including schools, businesses and local governments. The initial feedback is outstanding. Facility managers really appreciate being able to track all their assets on a cloud-based solution they can access from any web browser, including their iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and tablets "
